Yesterday, the 5th edition of the FIFA International Master (MA) in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport began with a new class of 29 students. For the first time, the geographic mix of students includes all the continents, with a total of 20 different nationalities.
Over the past four years, more than 90 graduates have successfully completed the course. Most of them are now
employed in various sports organisations around the world, including FIFA, the IOC, Organising Committees, International Federations, Marketing Agencies, etc.
The 29 new students come from countries as diverse as Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Cuba, USA, Brazil, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Israel, The Netherlands, Canada, Argentina, Russia,
Philippines and Paraguay. They will cover three fundamental areas of sport during their ten-month intensive studies: humanities, management and the
legal aspects of sport.
The teaching is delivered by three European universities: De Montfort University in Leicester (UK), SDA Bocconi-School of Management in Milan (IT) and the Université de Neuchâtel in Neuchâtel (CH), and complemented by numerous guest speakers from a very wide range of sport organisations. The first module in Leicester, from now to mid-December, will cover topics such as History, Ethics, Sociology, Communications, etc. with field visits
planned to prestigious institutions including Manchester United, Bolton Wanderers FC, Wimbledon, the RFU, Stockport County FC & Salessharks Premiership Rugby Club, etc…
