Fifa’s Zen-Ruffinen Removed and Blatter Legal Case Dropped
Chaired by President Joseph S. Blatter, the FIFA Executive Committee passed the following decision at its hour-long meeting today, Friday 31 May 2002 in Seoul/Korea:
The terms of employment of the General Secretary, Michel Zen-Ruffinen end on 4 July subject to mutual agreement.
The General Secretary remains in charge of running the 2002 FIFA World Cup™. The discussions unfolded in a positive way and mutual thanks and gratitude were expressed.
On the proposal of Senior Vice President Julio Grondona, the members in attendance at the meeting who had filed legal proceedings against the FIFA President in Zurich agreed to withdraw the proceedings.
