The 4th edition of the FIFA/CIES International Master (MA) in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport will finish in a few weeks’ time. The 26 current students, coming from all over the world (19 nationalities are represented!) will receive their diploma in Neuchâtel (CH) on Monday 12th July 2004. As patron of the 4th edition, Sergey Bubka, IOC member, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament and an Olympic Champion and current World Record holder in pole-vault will hand out the prestigious diploma, with Urs Linsi, FIFA General Secretary, and Denis Oswald in his capacity as President of the International Master Scientific Committee.

Since its inception in October 2000, 70 graduates from over 40 countries have successfully completed this postgraduate course, coordinated by the CIES (International Center for Sports Studies) and taught by three European leading universities: De Montfort university in Leicester (UK) for the Humanities of Sport module, SDA Bocconi-School of Management in Milan (IT) for the Sport Management module and the University of Neuchâtel (CH) for the Sports Law module. In addition to specialists from various universities, half the content of the programme is delivered directly by some of the top sports executives, including Sportcal.com’s Managing Director, Mike Laflin, always keen to lecture this challenging audience on ‘The Main Trends of Sport on the Internet’.

51 graduates of the first three editions (73%) are now working in sports organisations as diverse and high-profile as FIFA, IOC, Asian Football Confederation, Euro 2004, Athens 2004, Germany 2006, Charlton Athletic FC, Lega Calcio, US Soccer Federation, FIGC (Italian Football Association), UCI (International Cycling Union), FITA (International Archery Federation), Colombian Football Association, CONCACAF, Octagon US, TEAM Marketing, MLB International, Croatian Football Association, Swatch AG, Japan Football Association, South American Volleyball Confederation, The Football League, Atalanta Bergamasca FC, UK Women’s Sports Foundation, etc.
