Rudolf Baumann, President of the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF), reports that Federation of DanceSport South Africa (FEDANSA) has recently received Full Recognition as sole representative and governing body for DanceSport in the Republic of South Africa, from the National Olympic Committee of South Africa (NOCSA).

The Federation of DanceSport South Africa is the South African member of IDSF and represents the DanceSport Athletes of South Africa. 

DanceSport federations in 56 out of 82 countries represented in IDSF are now recognised by their own National Olympic Committees.

In 1997 IDSF received Full Recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the sole worldwide representative body for DanceSport.  Since 1997 IDSF’s DanceSport athletes have competed in a full program of medal competitions at IWGA World Games under the patronage of the IOC.
