Eurosport has announced that it reached a long-term agreement with Arab Digital Distribution (ADD), the platform operator for the ART (Arab Radio and Television) and Pehla bouquets, for the distribution of Eurosport and EurosportNews.

The program packages offered by ADD are distributed to 100 000 subscribers from three satellites covering North Africa, the Levant and the Gulf regions. Pehla, the newly launched Asian bouquet, is available to all Asians living in the countries across the Gulf.

EurosportNews will be available on all ADD platforms (ART, Pehla and Arabesque North Africa) in these regions and Eurosport will be available in either French or English in the territories where European rights allow it. Both channels will be proposed in the package that reaches the maximum number of subscribers.

This is a significant deal asne it sees the arrival of the French version of Eurosport for the first time in North Africa, meaning that the number of countries receiving EurosportNews rises to 28. It is also the first time a premium sports news service has been available in the Middle East.

Mr Kubler, Deputy Managing Director of Eurosport said ‘I am delighted to be able to support fast-growing platforms in these regions by proposing Eurosport and EurosportNews distribution’.

Mr John Tydeman, CEO of ADD: ‘ We are pleased to include both Eurosport and EurosportNews onto the ADD platform. These channels complement our existing channels and further confirm our position as the leading platform for sports in the region.’
