O’Neill Europe and the Eurosport Television Network today announced plans to bolster their relationship with a solid broadcast venture for 2004. The new, multi faceted media partnership will work to deliver a comprehensive television package for O’Neill’s eclectic snowboarding and surfing event portfolio. Events, including the SB-Jam, Xtreme Verbier and the Deep Blue Open, will receive high quality, diverse and extensive exposure throughout
the Eurosport multimedia platform.
As part of the new deal, a series of 13-minute highlight shows from the selected events will be transmitted. The shows will be accompanied by short news edits on Eurosportnews. ‘YOZ Mag’ (Youth Only Zone) and ‘YOZ Xtreme’, Eurosport’s weekly alternative sports magazines with an estimated annual audience reach of 48 million viewers, will reinforce the exposure and feature in-depth, action-packed event round-ups.
The O’Neill team riders will also be cutting themselves a piece of the action. Trading the tools of their trade for a microphone and some probing questions, a select few pros such as Gian Simmen, Stefan Gimpl and Dani Costandaché are lined up for guest presenter appearances on YOZ. On the
other side of the camera the team riders will become a regular subject of feature profiles, as Eurosport picks a handful of the snow and surf team and zeros in so you can discover the people behind the personas.
Of course, Eurosport viewers will also be given the opportunity to live the dream with regular competitions and an array of top prizes, including the opportunity to win an exclusive trip to the azure waters and perfect waves
of the Maldives for the O’Neill Deep Blue Open surf event.
