The countdown is well under way for the European Cricket Council Indoor Tournament, and preparations in Lisbon are on course for what the ECC hope will be a successful and highly enjoyable weekend.

This will be the biggest ECC Indoor Tournament to date, with 12 teams participating in 2 groups at the fantastic indoor facilities at the Centro Desportivo de Malveira and the Centro Desportivo De Venda do Pinheiro, both of which lie within the municipal boundaries of the town of Mafra, about 30km north-west of Lisbon. Accommodation has been arranged for all participants at the Hotel Vila Galé in the seaside town of Ericeira.

To get proceedings under way, there will be an official reception on the Friday evening hosted by the Mayor of Mafra. Saturday will be an extremely busy day, with a total of 24 group matches being played at the two venues, starting promptly at 9am.

The hosts, Portugal, will battle it out in Group A with Belgium, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece and Switzerland, whilst Austria, Denmark, France, Holland, Italy and Spain will pit their skills against each other in Group B. The remaining 6 group matches will be played on the Sunday, followed by the matches to decide final placings, the semi-finals and the final.

The weekend will be rounded off with a Presentation Gala Dinner at a renowned local restaurant in the village of Pinhal das Frades, a short distance from Ericeira, on the Sunday night.
