ESPN has sold out its gold and associate sponsorships for Winter X Games VII, it was announced today by Ed Erhardt, president, Customer Marketing & Sales, ESPN ABC Sports. The seventh annual Winter X Games, will take place in Aspen January 30 – February 2, and will be telecast on ABC Sports, ESPN and ESPN2 January 30 – February 4.

Last year’s Winter X Games gold sponsors — Mountain Dew, Right Guard Xtreme Sport, Taco Bell, Jeep® and Motorola, Inc.-have all renewed their commitments for this year’s event. Returning associate sponsors include Bagel Bites, and Playstation 2. 1 800 CALL ATT for collect calls renewed as an associate sponsor.

First time associate sponsors include Levi’s, Lorillard Tobacco Company’s Youth Smoking Prevention Program, Verizon Wireless, and 20th Century Fox’s movie ‘Daredevil.’ This year, DC Shoes has formed a partnership with the Winter X Games event.

‘The value of the Winter X Games is reflected in the overwhelming response by blue chip brands to the sponsorship opportunities,’ said Erhardt. ‘Our goal has been and remains to help our sponsors to take advantage of fully integrated marketing platforms that drive sports fans to act and become involved with the Winter X Games.’

Sponsorship benefits include an all-inclusive package on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN.com and in ESPN The Magazine, as well as complete on-site signage and hospitality opportunities. In addition, each gold sponsor receives an ESPN Radio advertising component.

Winter X Games VII will feature the talents of more than 250 of the world’s top action sports athletes competing for medals and more than $500,000 in prize money in the sports of Snowboard (Slopestyle, Snowboarder X and SuperPipe, men and women); Ski (Skier X – men and women, Slopestyle and SuperPipe), Snowmobile (HillCross and SnoCross), Moto X (Big Air) and UltraCross (ski and snowboard combined event). Winter X Games VI in Aspen drew a crowd of close to 40,000 spectators over the four-day event – the biggest winter sporting event Aspen has ever hosted.

Winter X Games VII will be televised January 30 – February 4 on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports with more than 17 hours of original programming. The Games are telecast in 10 languages to more than 145 countries and territories, reaching more than 110 million homes around the world.
