England Netball has signed up with Mitre Sports International to bring together the best in women’s sport in England.

In an exclusive deal, Mitre Sports will supply balls and footwear to the England Netball team and balls for use at National Netball Tournaments.

Pauline Harrison, AENA’s Chief Executive Officer, said ‘We are delighted to be working with Mitre at this exciting stage in the development of Netball. Through partnerships with important companies like Mitre, we can’t help but grow the profile of the sport and bring Netball to the forefront of the media where it deserves to be. Mitre’s quality products will help provide Netball with the resources it needs to devlop from its broad school base, to clubs and all the way to the elite athletes at the top.’

Marketing Manager for Mitre, Paul Bell, said ‘It’s great we
have managed to secure a long term strategic marketing
agreement with England Netball. We already have existing
relationships in place with Netball Australia and Netball New Zealand and we can now add England Netball to our team.’
Mitre has also teamed up with the UK’s leading orthotics
company, C1-One Orthotics Limited, to develop specialist
Netball shoes.

The new NETSTAR shoe has been put through extensive clinical testing and analysis to encourage the wearer to run faster, turn quicker, jump higher and stop immediately when required.

The NETSTAR shoe will be worn by several of the England Netball team at the Cable & Wireless World Netball Championships in Jamaica and will be on sale to the public, through specialist Netball outlets, in October 2003.
