A World Cup Bid delegation, led by Chief Executive, Andy Anson and England 2018 International President, David Dein, will visit Guatemala between Sunday 28th February and Tuesday 2nd March.

The delegation will formally present to FIFA Executive Committee member, Rafael Salguero at Meson Panza Verde, Antigua, on Monday 1st March.

Later that day, England 2018 Ambassador, David Ginola, will run a special coaching session for children at the Escuela de Espranza in Antigua, a school supported by the English charity, ‘Education for the Children’. Ginola will be joined at the school by Rafael Salguero and former Guatemalan striker, Juan Carlos Plata.

England 2018 Chief Executive, Andy Anson, commented:

“We are committed to ensuring that our bid is focussed on what a World Cup in England can deliver to all of world football. It is therefore vitally important we discuss our bid with influential people in the football world in their own countries.

We are enormously grateful to Mr Salguero for giving us the opportunity for us to present our bid in Guatemala and I am pleased that we are able to bring a suitably strong team including David Dein and David Ginola to meet with him.”
