FIFA Marketing AG has appointed the German company EM.TV & Merchandising AG as its sole and exclusive licensing representative for the European territories for the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm). In addition, EM.TV has been
named as FIFA’s Preferred Premium Supplier on a worldwide basis for the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm), and will act as the event’s on-site concessionaire and operator of the official FIFA World Cup(tm) retail stores.

EM.TV has its global headquarters and extensive merchandising and content operations in Munich, one of the centres of the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm) and close to many of the activities leading up to the event. EM.TV is an
independent company with core expertise in the efficient development and commercial exploitation of properties and brands. Its second core area of expertise, selling TV rights and producing TV programmes for children and
families, has huge potential to enhance the entertainment value of FIFA’s largest event. Through its involvement in production, television marketing and licensed merchandising, EM.TV will be able to boost FIFA’s endeavours to broaden the fan base of football still further.

The management of FIFA Marketing AG, the marketing arm of FIFA, is sure that this early commitment from one of Germany’s market leaders in the area of entertainment management will greatly benefit the FIFA World Cup(tm)
Marketing Programme and will allow all of the key lessons of the 2002 FIFA World Cup(tm) to be integrated to the full.
