Rugby League World Cup 2000 Ltd today announce that the two fixtures in the Lincoln Financial Group Rugby League World Cup between France and Papua New Guinea and Tonga and South Africa will be played as a double header on Saturday 28th October 2000 at The Charlety Stadium, Paris.

This follows the Rugby League World Cup 2000 policy of giving spectators the best possible value by allowing them to watch two games for the price of one and to avoid the inconvenience of travelling long distances to watch two separate games.

A similar double-headed match will take place at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff when Wales take on New Zealand and Cook Islands play Lebanon on Sunday 5 November.

Jason Harborow, Operations Director of Rugby League World Cup 2000, says: ‘We are conscious that many rugby league fans will be making very long journeys to reach Paris and we hope that they will think it all worthwhile after seeing two rugby league matches, in one of the most beautiful capital cities in the World.’
‘It is important that the French national team play in Paris and we are hoping that the sports fans will emerge in large numbers to support the players as they battle to reach the quarter finals of the Lincoln Financial Group Rugby League World Cup 2000’.
