Divisional heads named in new UEFA structure

At a meeting held in the UEFA headquarters in Nyon earlier today, UEFA’s Executive Committee discussed details related to the administrative re-structuring of UEFA, as the so-called F.O.R.C.E. project (Football Organisation Redesign for the next Century in Europe) approaches its conclusion. New divisions are being created within UEFA and the Executive Committee gave its approval to proposals made by UEFA Chief Executive, Gerhard Aigner, regarding five important posts within the new structure. Former Scottish national team manager, Andy Roxburgh, has been named head of the new Football Development Division. Jacob Erel, general secretary of the Israeli national association, has been appointed head of the Competition Operations Division. Lars-Christer Olsson, general secretary of the Swedish national association, will take over at the head of the Professional Football & Marketing Division. Hanspeter Jenni, current head of the Finance Department, will retain control of the organisation’s economic affairs. Markus Studer is named head of Legal Relations and will maintain his role as Deputy Chief Executive. Two high-level posts within the new structure – Director of Services and Director of PR & Communications – are still to be filled. UEFA aims to announce these appointments by mid-April.
