Infront Sports & Media wins Germany’s only universal provider of postal services as third DFB Cup sponsor
Zug, Switzerland / Bonn, Germany, 22 June 2009 – Deutsche Post (German Postal Services) becomes a sponsor of Germany’s prestigious DFB Cup (DFB Pokal) in the TOP partners category, commencing with the 2009/2010 season. Therefore the postal service and logistics group has acquired the third of only four exclusive Top-Partner-packages from Infront Sports & Media.
As a TOP partner, Deutsche Post will enjoy access to a comprehensive rights package for all 63
matches of the DFB Cup including broad television coverage in Germany, where all matches will be shown live on Premiere and eight matches to be broadcasted by ARD or ZDF in parallel. This includes also advertising boards and other forms of exposure in camera view, first right of negotiation for television presenting sponsorship, as well as on-site promotional rights and many other effective opportunities in and around the arenas.
Raising product awareness through football
By entering the DFB Cup partner pool, Deutsche Post is extending its involvement in German Football. As National Supporter of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 and Premium Partner of the German Women’s National Team it is now entering men’s football with the TOP Partnership of the DFB Cup.
With its extension to the mass sport of football, the Deutsche Post plans to raise broad awareness and attract new customers for there products, including innovative solutions like its internet-based stamp.

About the DFB Cup
The DFB Cup is an elimination tournament held annually. It is the second most important national title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Infront has a new central role, handling sponsorship and all stadium advertising rights for all games. Previously, Infront only marketed the eight matches that were covered on television. From 2009 onwards, all 63 games of the competition will be covered live for the first time and all the rights managed from one central source, through Infront.
