Department for Transport Renews Partnership with Carat Sport

The Department for Transport (DfT) – title sponsor of the 2004 Think! British Superbike Championship and partner of the Football League – has re-appointed Carat Sport to manage its sports sponsorship programme after a competitive pitch process.

The pitch process was a recognition of the growing importance of this channel to the DfT and Carat Sport were able to demonstrate outstanding strategic and creative credentials.

David Reilly, Joint Managing Director of Carat Sport, said: ‘The outcome of the pitch process reflects strongly Carat’s uniquely integrated proposition to clients. Working closely with Carat’s Communications Planning team we offer sports sponsorship solutions that are salient and add value to our client’s communication strategy. We now look forward to delivering our exciting plans with the DfT.’

The DfT’s Senior Publicity Manager, David Watson, said: ‘We are striving to meet important targets for a reduction in road safety casualties by 2010. We look forward to working with Carat Sport to help us create and deliver sports marketing programmes that can help us fulfil our objectives.’
