After a New Year flurry of entries into the 2004 Sport Industry Awards, the organisers have extended the deadline until 30th January. Now in their third year, the awards have attracted a record number of entries in all categories covering sponsorship, advertising, marketing, PR, kit design, publishing, community sport, governing bodies and new media.

The 2004 event is set to be the most competitive yet with huge names such as adidas, Puma, Manchester United, Vodafone, Powergen and Zurich in the running. The new categories ‘Best Promotion of a Sport by a Governing Body,’ ‘Best Use of New Media in Sport’ and ‘Best Use of PR in a Sport Campaign’ have also received an extremely positive response from the industry attracting entries from McDonalds, Barclaycard Premiership and the David Beckham/Johnny Wilkinson PR campaign by adidas, to name a few.

The Sport Industry Awards takes place on 4th May 2004 at the London Hilton on Park Lane and are sponsored by UK Sport, Sport England, Collyer-Bristow Solicitors, Kingston Smith, Marsh, Action Images, sportinglife.com, Sport Business, Aura Sports and The Sports Show.
