At the closure of nominations for ECB Chairman yesterday, it emerged that David Morgan was the sole candidate nominated for the position*. Nominations were accepted from the period Thursday 12 August until Thursday 26 August.

Before he is confirmed as ECB Chairman for a second term of office, David Morgan’s nomination must be endorsed by the members of the ECB by Thursday 9 September. The two-year term of office will start on Saturday 1 January 2005.

*Any candidate must be proposed by one member of the First Class Forum and seconded by two others.
