Soccerex are delighted to welcome the individuals responsible for delivering the two largest upcoming global sporting events: 2010 FIFA World Cup and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Danny Jordaan, the Chief Executive Officer of the 2010 FIFA World Cup organising committee, was integral in bringing one of the greatest sporting events in the world to South Africa. He believes next year’s World Cup will have a major impact in building racial harmony and stimulating future economic growth in South Africa:

“The World Cup is about much more than just 64 games of football spread over 30 days. This World Cup could unite South Africa more than any other event has done. The World Cup gives an unprecedented opportunity to nation-build, to brand our country and to leave a lasting legacy.”

Denis Oswald is the Chairman of the IOC’s Co-ordination Commission – the watchdog which oversees preparations for the London 2012 Olympics. In addition to being a member of the IOC executive board and head of the International Rowing Federation, he was previously head of the Co-ordination Commission for the 2004 Olympics in Athens and has received the full support of IOC President Jacques Rogge who said: “He is the ideal person to lead the IOC’s partnership with London”.

According to Taleb Rifai, the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s secretary-general, sporting events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the London 2012 Olympics will act as a catalyst to revive the ailing global travel and tourism industry.

Soccerex 09 (28 Nov – 2 Dec, South Africa) will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear from the two people responsible for delivering two major global events and stimulating an industry worth an estimated US$600 billion annually. To find out more about this year’s event and discuss your attendance at the world’s leading football business convention please call the Soccerex Team on +44 (0)20 8742 7100.
