CPG Appoints New Executive Chairman
Copyright Promotions Group Limited (CPG), the leading entertainment, sports and brand licensing agency is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Wheeler as their new Executive Chairman.
Matthew Wheeler, 41, succeeds David Cardwell and will become a shareholder in the group. With over 15 years experience as a senior executive in the sports and entertainment rights industry, he has contributed to the growth of two international agency networks and in the last two years has developed extensive relationships in the private equity community in Europe. An investor in the international partnership marketing agency, Lighthouse Communications, Matthew will continue there as chairman and will also work on a number of other projects with private equity firms.

Previously Chief Executive of Alan Pascoe’s API Group, in 1997 Matthew played a central role in the sale of API to Interpublic, one of the world’s largest marketing and communications groups. He became the worldwide managing director of Octagon, Interpublic’s international sports and entertainment agency. Over the past two years, Matthew has also worked on a number of projects with leading venture capital firms. Most recently he has been advising Advent International, the global private equity firm that has been involved in the auction for the acquisition of Sportfive, the Franco-German sports rights agency.
