Nationwide Building Society has recently hired specialist sports rights lawyers, Couchman Harrington Associates. Nationwide is the largest building society in the UK and one of the biggest sponsors of football in the UK and Northern Ireland.
Couchman Harrington Associates (CHA) were appointed after a competitive pitch with a number of other leading City and specialist law firms. CHA will assist Nationwide and it’s in-house legal team in regard to all of Nationwide’s sponsorship and related television requirements, in particular advising on contractual matters, intellectual property rights and their exploitation, as well as any other legal issues arising from its many high profile football sponsorships, which include the England Team, the FA Cup, the Nationwide Football League and a new women’s football development programme with the FA.
