Copyright Promotions Sport’s team, the driving force behind the hugely successful licensing programmes for major sports brands such as The FA and the RFU, will be on hand for potential licensees, retailers and commercial partners aiming to develop new consumer products and further commercial opportunities within their portfolio and the sports arena.

Copyright Promotions Sport (CPS) is the rebranded sports arm of licensing experts, Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG) who are celebrating 30 years in the industry this year. Launched earlier this year under its new name, Copyright Promotions Sport, has already generated significant interest within the sports world which has led to many negotiations, exploring how to maximize revenue from licensing, sponsor premiums, hospitality, official supplier sponsorships and managing event sales in the most efficient way.

In May this year, CPS exhibited at Sport Accord, the international sports convention, held in Lausanne, the largest annual meeting place for sports federations, broadcasters and commercial partners. Both the launch and meetings in Lausanne have enabled the team to form new relationships within the sports arena including World Snooker. The renewed interest in snooker has sparked several new commercial opportunities, which CPS will be exploring further over the next coming months.

Copyright Promotions Sport’s existing clients such as The FA and England Rugby represent some of the leading brands in sport. The comprehensive programme developed for The FA naturally peaked with some great retail sales during Euro 2004. The current programme is now gaining further momentum and interest in the lead up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm) in Germany.

Following England Rugby’s World Cup win, retail sales of rugby merchandise in the UK increased ten-fold over the same period from 2002. As a result, continuing retailer and consumer demand for England Rugby branded product has improved significantly. A new style guide has recently been developed for all existing and potential new licensees. This will enhance the retail presence of England Rugby branded product for 2004/ 2005 and beyond, as retailers prepare for the next World Cup in 2007.
