The 3D TV megatrend: Sony’s plans for the television of the future
The 3D phenomenon is to be used during the 2010 FIFA World Cup: twenty-five games will be broadcast live and also shown at public viewings in 3D, and the most exhilarating moments will be captured in 3D on a Blu-ray disc. The cameras and production technology from Sony, an official FIFA Partner, make this a reality. The Japanese company affords long-standing experience in the creation of 3D technology and endeavours to “work with FIFA to bring an entirely new entertainment experience to the world of football”. YouTube to become a sports channel: Google manager in the Marketing Rights Special Interest Forum
The announcement caused a furore among rights holders, marketers and media companies: Google has acquired the rights to the Indian cricket league, the IPL, for its YouTube video platform. The motivation behind this is remains unclear at this point, but Google shall shed light on the matter: Andreas Briese, Strategic Partner Development Manager, will explain the opportunities the online platform for sports offers in the Marketing Rights Special Interest Forum.
