Stirling, Scotland: – The Commonwealth Games Council of Scotland announced today that it has secured global swimwear brand, Speedo, as the Official Team Kit Supplier to the Scottish team for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Speedo will be providing performance swimwear for a Scottish team of nearly 300 athletes as well as developing a range of team leisure clothing which will be unveiled later this year. The Scottish team enjoyed their most successful medal tally at the last Commonwealth Games held in 2002 in Manchester, with a total of 30 medals.

Louise Martin CBE, Chair, Commonwealth Games Council of Scotland, commented on the partnership, ‘It is a tremendous boost for us to have Speedo on-board. Their expertise and reputation is unrivalled and we are confident they will help us to continue the success we enjoyed at the last Commonwealth Games.’
