Commenting on a report in today’s Daily Telegraph, Barbara Cassani, Chairman of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Bid, said:

‘I am outraged at the report in today’s Daily Telegraph which falsely attributes comments to me concerning the Prime Minister.

‘Following legal advice, I have instructed lawyers to write to the newspaper demanding a full and complete apology, making clear that further legal steps will be taken if this is not forthcoming. The newspaper is now in receipt of this letter.

‘I have also re-assured the Prime Minister, whom I hold in very high regard, that this report is completely untrue and that I have begun legal action to put the record straight.’
