CALDENE has launched a major new sponsorship deal with three of Britain’s leading equestrian stars.

The deal includes show jumpers Robert Smith and Ellen Whitaker, and showman Robert Walker.

The three riders will form Team Caldene in what is set to be an exciting association with owners of the brand, Matchmakers International.

Said Richard Lawrence of Caldene: ‘We are very pleased to be supporting Team Caldene. In the showjumping world Robert is one of the country’s leading rider’s, while Ellen has already made a huge impact on the sport at just 18.

‘In showing Robert Walker has already won most of the major titles and will be a great ambassador for the company as well as the sport.’

Robert Smith has been at the top of the showjumping ladder for many years now and has probably his best team of horses currently competing.

Ellen has been a member of many pony and junior teams, and aged 18 looks set to be another major star of the Whitaker clan. Having just competed in her first Derby at Hickstead, Ellen claimed second place behind her uncle, John.

Robert Walker, a professional showman has won most major showing championships, including five classes at Royal Windsor in 2003.
