Burghley Horse Trials, the Autumn Classic of Three Day Eventing, which this year runs from Thursday 30 August to Sunday 2 September 2001 will continue to be broadcast on BBC Sunday Grandstand up to and including 2003.

Using some 23 cameras to capture the spectacle of the 7,000 metre Cross Country Course, Television in Europe, the Burghley Host Broadcaster for the past eleven years, will continue to provide a unique combination of tape delayed and ‘live’ coverage for the BBC: thereby enabling the television audience to enjoy the vital action of the whole Championship in one ninety minute session.

Complimenting the ‘live’ finale, Television in Europe will also post produce a ninety minute highlights show for overseas several broadcasters including Eurosport, TVNZ and Fox Sports in Australia.

Burghley Horse Trials is actively engaged in looking for a new ‘Title Sponsor’ to succeed Pedigree Petfoods, a division of the Mars Group, who at the end of this year’s Championship will take their leave having successfully completed their seven year agreement.

Ninety miles up the A1 from London and just a mile from the Georgian town of Stamford, Burghley, annually welcomes over 140,000 visitors to the Championship and the country’s biggest outdoor shopping mall: 300 top name outlets which last year turned over 4.5 million pounds.
