Bank announces R$ 3.5 million investment in city’s Olympic project

The Rio de Janeiro bid to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games has gained a new partner. Banco Bradesco has announced an investment of R$ 3.5 million in the project. The choice of host city of the 2016 Games will take place on 2 October in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The president of Rio 2016 Committee, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, reinforced the importance of the new partnership. “We are very happy with the support of Bradesco, which shows the confidence that Brazilian entrepreneurs have in the project. It encourages for us to work even harder in this final stage of the campaign,” said Nuzman.

For Bradesco CEO, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, the investment represents putting into practice the central concept of the new market positioning of the institution. “We say that Brazil is part of the modern world and Bradesco is part of Brazil,” he said. “Rio 2016 is a representation of Brazil’s realignment into the international community. It deserves all our support and our help.” Banco Bradesco has 20 million clients and posses the largest network of in the country, with presence in 95% of Brazilian cities.

From the beginning, the Rio 2016 project has received support from private enterprise and already has partners such as Embratel, Tam, the Odebrecht Group and EBX.
