With the departure of Stephen Baddeley (Chief Executive for the past seven years) to Sport England, the Badminton Association of England has appointed David Teasdale as interim Chief Executive.
David will work part-time until a new Chief Executive is appointed and in place. He has key responsibilities for the strategic management of the Association, the discussion with Sport England on the new Whole Sport Plan, Operational Plans and the launch of the Association’s new participation initiatives. He will also assist the BA of E Board in the Chief Executive selection process.
At the same time, David remains Chairman of the specialist sports marketing company, Goodform Ltd.
David’s career has been in the public and private sectors. In Whitehall, he served as Head of Sport & Recreation 1983 –1987. He was a Director at the Sports Council in 1988/89. He has worked on Olympic bids for Birmingham, Johannesburg and London. He is Deputy Chairman of BISL (Business in Sport & Leisure), the umbrella body representing the interests of the private sector in sport and leisure.
