AT THE RACES has signed John McCririck as it prepares for the return of live UK racing on Friday 11 June.

The popular racing pundit and betting guru will join the At The Races team for live racing from UK courses, giving his outspoken views on the day’s racing.

He will be joined on the presentation team by Sky Sports presenter Alex Hammond and Zoey Bird, both experienced racing broadcasters and newspaper columnists. Further appointments will be confirmed as the countdown to launch continues.

Today the channel also unveiled its new logo to be used on live broadcasts, in studio programmes and within marketing activity. It is designed in red, white and blue with the name presented in a new style as three separate words.

The latest developments come in the week that At The Races confirmed a firm launch date of Friday 11 June and announced an agreement with Newton Abbott, taking its tally of race courses to 26.

Announcing today’s developments, Matthew Imi, Chief Executive of At The Races, said; ‘We are so pleased to have John McCririck on board. He is an expert in racing and TV and he’s synonymous with the sport; not just to those on the inside but to millions of viewers and sports fans. He is able to popularise the sport and help to fuel its growth.’

‘It’s another big step towards the return of live UK racing on TV; in the space of a week At The Races has announced a start date, a production team and a highly respected, well-known face.’

On joining At The Races, presenter John McCririck said: ‘I’m excited to have been asked to bring daily racing back to air and it had to be with At The Races.’

‘It is vital to get live racing back on TV as soon as possible and, for me, the best way is without an extra subscription.

‘There is no finer opportunity for quality coverage of world class racing to be taken to such a large audience. I want to be part of it and I know it will flourish.’
