Athens 2004 Appoints Jack Morton Worldwide as Production Licensee

Jack Morton Worldwide is the company appointed as licensee by ATHENS 2004 to produce the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games.

When interest was invited for the production of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, two consortiums with companies in Greece and abroad responded, five companies abroad, and two consortiums of Greek companies. The procedure was completed after seven months of examining all proposals submitted.

Jack Morton Worldwide is a multinational company and a pioneer in ceremony productions. They employ 750 staff in 28 offices on four continents. They have great experience and technical know-how in staging ceremonies and events.

Jack Morton Worldwide productions have included: Commonwealth Games Ceremonies – Manchester, 2002; Paralympic Winter Games Ceremonies – Salt Lake City, 2002; Ceremony to mark the handing over of Hong Kong to the People’s Republic of China by the United Kingdom – Hong Kong, 1997; G8 Summit Conference – Birmingham (UK), 1998.

Jack Morton Worldwide will give body to a creative proposal by Dimitris Papaioannou, the man responsible for the artistic supervision of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
