HRH Prince Tunku Imran, President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia and IOC Member, will present the keynote address at the inaugural ASIA SPORTS conference at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 23 to 25 November 2009.

“Asia stands on the brink of a huge leap forward in sport – both on the field of play and in the boardroom. Our goal is to turn this dream into reality, to make a telling contribution to the upward growth curve, and to establish a road map for the future by providing Asian sports executives with a home-grown platform which showcases innovative Asian solutions for uniquely Asian challenges.”

A distinctly Asian forum which will address head-on the commercial and sporting issues faced by the sports community in the region today, ASIA SPORTS 2009 is one of the region’s first “homegrown” sports business summits dedicated entirely to the commercial development of Asian sport on a pan-regional, multi-sport basis.

A very exciting and distinguished panel of speakers, all of whom are recognised as leaders in their respective fields, has been assembled to present solutions, ideas and both practical and commercial tools for the Asian sports marketplace across a broad range of disciplines. Partnerships for Success – the speakers will weave this theme into their respective presentations, with the ultimate goal being to identify how crucial it is for stakeholders of the Asian sports industry to engage in creative and forward-thinking partnerships.

Conference delegates will represent the wide spectrum of stakeholders from both Asian and International sport including government agencies, sports federations, national sports associations, National Olympic Committees, Organising Committees of multi-sport games, broadcasters, sports marketers, event organisers, educational institutions, international brands, and lawyers.

Asian sports specialists Wharf House, in partnership with the Olympic Council of Malaysia and SAI, is organising the event, and have developed a three-day programme featuring presentations by, and panel discussions with, market leaders and decision-makers, an exhibition, specially-tailored break-out sessions and personal networking opportunities. Guests-of-Honour will include the Malaysian Minister for Sport and the Law Minister.
