ALMS: BMW Will Run Le Mans Winner in America Series
BMW will run its Le Mans 24 Hour winning car in this years American Le Man Series. Two open-type prototypes of the BMW V12 LMR will be on the starting grid in the sportscar series. Jorg Muller and JJ Lehto will share a drive, with American driver Bill Auberlen taking the pilot seat of the second car. BMW motorsport director Gerhard Berger said: ‘The 1999 triumphs turned the BMW into the most successful sports car of the last two decades. ‘We are convinced that, equipped with this car, first class drivers and an excellent team, we also stand a chance in the 2000 season.
