A delegation of Madrid 2012 will travel this afternoon to Singapore, where a group of meetings organised by International Olympic Committee (IOC) will take place on April 29th and 30th. The representatives of the five candidate cities will attend these meetings in order to specify the technical aspects relating to the IOC session to be held on July 6th in Singapore, when the city that will host the 2012 Olympics Games will be announced.
Roberto Sanz-Pinacho, Managing Director of the Madrid 2012 Foundation, Antonio Fernández-Arimany, Managing Director, Alfonso Hernández, Financial Director, José Ramón Díez, Communication Director and Isidre Rigau compose the Madrid 2012 team. They will be accompanied by representatives of the audiovisual company VIDEON.
The five candidate cities’ representatives will attend a general briefing on the morning of Friday 29th and, the IOC will start a group of individual meetings with each one of them following the IOC official draw. Paris and New York will be the first ones to attend such meetings; the following day, April 30th, there will be new meetings with Moscow, London and finally Madrid, that will be represented by José Ramón Díez.
