World Tennis, the recently rebranded international governing body, has named Yonex, the Japanese racket sports equipment brand, as the official tennis ball partner of the men’s upcoming 2026 Davis Cup Final Eight national teams tournament.

The multi-year deal will see the Yonex Tour Platinum debut as the official ball at this year’s Final Eight in Bologna, Italy, from November 24 to 29, with the event serving as the climax to the 2026 Davis Cup season, which began in February.

World Tennis chief executive Ross Hutchins said: “We are very excited that Yonex has joined our growing portfolio of premium partners for the Davis Cup by Generali.

“Yonex is one of the best tennis ball manufacturers in the game and is a fitting partner for the Final Eight – an incredible event that showcases the very best of our prestigious competition. We look forward to working with them in Bologna later this month.”

The deal increases Yonex Tour Platinum’s presence within tennis, having secured official ball status at several ATP (men’s) and WTA (women’s) events, including the China Open in Beijing and the Rolex Shanghai Masters.

The ball was also used for the women’s 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen.

Yonex president Alyssa Yoneyama said: “Representing their country is a special moment for any player, and we are honored to support the athletes competing at the Davis Cup by Generali Final Eight.

We believe players should be able to trust their equipment and focus fully on their game. That is why we listen closely to players and continually refine our products based on what matters to them on court. Through Tour Platinum, we hope to give players that confidence to perform at their best as they represent their countries.”

The 2026 Davis Cup Finals will see eight national teams compete to be crowned world champions. Alongside hosts Italy, seven winning nations from September's second-round qualifiers will participate in the event, including Czechia, Canada, South Korea, Great Britain, Germany, Austria and Spain.

In terms of the tournament's other commercial activity, international insurance company Generali Group was recently unveiled as the new presenting partner for the competition.

Under a multi-year global partnership, the competition will be known as the Davis Cup by Generali, and the company will gain rights to worldwide broadcast integration, in-bowl visibility, and back wall court branding at all Davis Cup events.

The agreement with Generali ends the World Tennis governing body’s long search for a new presenting partner, with the position left vacant since the previous title sponsorship deal with Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten ended in 2022.

World Tennis’ commercial portfolio for the Davis Cup also includes Rolex, Visa, MG, Fage, Corpay, Fred Perry, and Betsson.
