The World Aquatics governing body has extended its exclusive US media rights agreement with national network NBC Sports through 2028.

The multi-year deal will see the broadcaster continue to provide coverage of aquatic competition, headlined by the World Aquatics Championships, the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m), and the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup series.

The renewed agreement was brokered by global sports marketing agency Sportfive.

NBC Sports will air a slate of World Aquatics events annually across its linear television channel and Peacock streaming service.

Additional events include the Artistic Swimming World Cup Super Final, Diving World Cup, and High Diving World Cup.

The deal includes the next edition of the World Aquatics Championships in 2027, in Budapest (Hungary). The World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) will next take place in Beijing in 2026.

Husain Al Musallam, World Aquatics president, said: “This agreement ensures broad and consistent exposure for our athletes and events, including the 2027 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest – a key milestone on the road to the LA 2028 Olympic Games.”

Already the US media rightsholder for the Olympic Games through 2036, NBC Sports’ expanded World Aquatics coverage complements its existing coverage of USA Swimming and the 2028 US Olympic Trials.
