Volleyball World, the commercial body managing global volleyball rights, has struck a new multi-year strategic partnership with Eurovision Services, the leading broadcast services provider with the aim of enhancing its viewing product.

Eurovision Services will serve as the exclusive signal distributor for Volleyball World broadcasts, managing streams globally to over 600 broadcasters, with the aim of ensuring stable and high-quality feeds without interruption.

The multi-year deal will cover a number of Volleyball World’s elite competitions, including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), FIVB Volleyball World Championships, Asian Volleyball Championships, Volleyball Club World Championship, and more domestic competitions from around the world.

Speaking on the deal, Volleyball World head of media Felix von Knorring commented: “Our goal is to bring fans closer to the action through high-quality, dependable broadcasts, and this partnership ensures we meet that standard across every event and platform.”

Eurobision Services chief commercial officer Fabien Robineau added: “Volleyball World is bringing the best of volleyball content under one roof, creating one place for fans to engage with their favorite sport.

“Our role is to support their vision, reducing friction to content delivery to the great broadcasters around the world, whether it be on satellite, fiber, or SRT, for them to create local stories.”

Eurovision Services was previously owned by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the alliance of public service broadcasters, which sold the services business to Munich-based private equity firm Dubag Group in 2023.

Created by the EBU in 2018, Eurovision Services has offices in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and employs around 250 staff.

Satellite, fiber, and IP feeds are delivered to broadcasters via the Eurovision Global Network, with content also fed to streaming services around the world.

In June, Volleyball World appointed Ugo Valensi as its new chief executive.

He will take up his new role with the organization on August 4, replacing Finn Taylor, who recently stepped down.

Taylor left his position on April 25. Martyn Phillips, the vice chair of the Volleyball World board, has been serving as interim CEO in recent months.

Valensi will begin his tenure just after the men’s and women’s Volleyball Nations League Finals and shortly before the Women’s Volleyball World Championship in Thailand (August 22 – September 7) and Men’s Volleyball World Championship in the Philippines (September 12-28) – the first time both championships have been held in Asia.
