
US telecommunications giant T-Mobile has become the latest sponsor of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to be held in Los Angeles, California.
Through a tie-up unveiled today, T-Mobile for Business becomes the telecommunications services provider for both the Olympics and Paralympics in three years' time.

The agreement will entail that division deploying solutions to "help LA28 create the most tech-forward production of the games in modern history."
Specifically, T-Mobile will be provide connectivity solutions at competition venues across Southern California, as well as reliable, secure bandwidth, connectivity for event broadcasts, and – also – innovative new technologies.
These will include, both parties have said, AI-powered data solutions, as well as innovations around fan engagement, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
In addition, T-Mobile's 5G network will support the Olympic Broadcasting Services host broadcaster as it connects to the various other networks worldwide that will be covering the event.

David Michael, LA29's chief information officer, has said: "T-Mobile for Business will play a crucial role in connecting games stakeholders to the action as events unfold at more than 110 connected locations – including more than 40 competition venues – across Southern California.”
In terms of recent LA28 commercial activity, mid-July saw the games' organizing committee sign up ride-hailing car service Uber as a sponsor.
In August, meanwhile, LA28 announced plans to sell naming rights for several venues being used for the event.
