Spanish soccer giants Barcelona will make further changes to their leadership team after relieving financial director Pancho Schroder of his duties.

Schroder served as financial director and head of strategic relations for the LaLiga club for the last seven years.

The executive joined the team with former president Josep Maria Bartomeu but has now been dismissed by new chief Joan Laporta.

With Barcelona’s well documented economic crisis, Schroder had been in charge of obtaining all the financing operations necessary to keep the club afloat.

He becomes the latest executive to leave the Catalan club after Joan Carles Raventos departed as general director of Barca Licensing and Merchandising last Wednesday.

Barca are already looking for their fourth commercial director this year following the recent resignation of the incumbent Jordi Camps.

Camps will apparently step down at the end of this month due to differences in vision for the direction of the club, which is at a critical commercial juncture having racked up debts of around €1 billion ($1.2 billion) during the pandemic.

Cinto Ajram and Xavier Asensi also previously resigned from the role.

The restructuring of the club’s management means that brand director Guillem Graell is the only executive to continue in his position after the appointment of Ferran Reverter as chief executive.

Meanwhile, Valencia have teamed up with IND, the sports nutritionist company.

IND will serve as an official partner of the club’s Innovation Hub and offer the LaLiga outfit its sports nutrition planning technology.

The Valencia-based start-up will provide nutritional plans to the men’s and women’s teams, as well as the academy.

IND will work with Valencia’s technical staff to measure the physical and nutritional performance of all of its teams.
