Silverstone spent three years with the Premier League club after becoming their commercial chief in October 2022.

During his tenure as Newcastle’s CCO, he was part of the team that secured a kit supply deal with German sportswear giant Adidas, worth £30 million ($39 million) per season.

Silverstone joined Newcastle from international soccer content portal OneFootball where he was senior vice-president of global development.

Prior to his tenure at OneFootball (which only lasted six months), he spent close to seven years at Premier League side Arsenal, the last four of which were as chief commercial officer.

With Silverstone’s departure, Newcastle’s senior management team is set for another reshuffle.

In September, the northeast side appointed experienced North American major league sports commercial executive David Hopkinson as their new chief executive after a 12-month search.

The club had been looking for a new CEO since September 2024 after Darren Eales announced he was stepping down for health reasons.

Hopkinson, who has more than 25 years of senior executive leadership and commercial experience across three countries, had previous roles at Madison Square Garden Sports, Spanish soccer giants Real Madrid, and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.
