French soccer giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are set to appoint Richard Heaselgrave as Marc Armstrong’s replacement, following their former chief revenue officer leaving for English soccer side Manchester United in January 2025, according to reports.
Prior to his reported PSG move, Heaselgrave has held similar roles at the World Rugby governing body and the Australian Tennis Federation, where he was chief revenue and fan engagement officer and chief revenue and experience officer respectively, most recently serving as chief executive of sports and entertainment agency Fallon & Wolf.
Before these roles, he served as the chief commercial officer of the organizer of the second, third, and fourth tiers of England’s men's soccer league pyramid, the English Football League, director of the company that manages the data for soccer leagues in the UK, Football Dataco, vice president of business development for basketball’s NBA Europe, sales executive for European soccer’s UEFA governing body, and sponsorship director for the FIA World Rally Championship.
Heaselgrave’s reported appointment continues the Parisian club’s restructuring of its leadership positions, with the permanent appointment of Victoriano Melero as chief executive also being made in October last year.
Melero had been acting chief executive of the club since February 2023, after predecessor Jean-Claude Blanc departed for the multi-sport ownership group Ineos.
Since stepping in as acting chief executive, Melero has also overseen the development of the Ligue 1 team’s new training center in Poissy, and perhaps most notably the purchase of a minority shareholding in the club by private equity firm Arctos Partners.
