Real Madrid, giants of Spanish and European soccer, saw revenues top €1 billion ($1.16 billion) in the 2024-25 season, breaking that barrier for the second consecutive season.

The Spanish club brought in €1.18 billion in total, excluding player transfer funds, in a trophyless season for the men's team.

This figure represents a year-on-year increase of 10%, with the equivalent 2023-24 number having been €1.07 billion (the first time the billion-euro barrier was breached).

Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), reached €243 million last season, meanwhile.

Post-tax, Madrid's profit last season was €24.3 million.

In terms of the different revenue sectors, Madrid have said that "all business lines registered growth," with the exception of broadcast revenues – broadcast income from LaLiga was down slightly last season as opposed to the 2023-24 numbers.

Specifically, 2024-25 saw the men's team finish second in the domestic LaLiga, lose to fierce rivals Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey knockout cup competition, and fall out of the lucrative pan-European UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage.

In terms of recent Real Madrid commercial activity, late last month the club extended their commercial contract with telecommunications and networking products provider Cisco.

The tie-up will focus on improving the technology solutions and provision around the team's Santiago Bernabeu home stadium, and also at the Real Madrid City training facilities.

Specifically, improvements will include the creation of an AI-ready data center at Real Madrid City, installing Cisco Wi-Fi 7 at the training ground, and deploying "a robust 100 Gbps [gigabytes per second] infrastructure" connecting the Bernabeu with Real Madrid City."

Cisco has been heavily involved with powering the technological upgrading of the Bernabeu in recent years, as part of the overall renovation and redevelopment of the venue – which has a seated capacity of 83,000 – which has been taking place over the last few years.

The Cisco-Real Madrid partnership covering the 2024-25 season was valued by GlobalData Sport at $2.6 million for that one campaign.
