TWSN now becomes an official media partner of the 16-team league, and as such will produce a weekly NWSL highlights show, game clips for its YouTube channel, original, athlete-led programming, and show archive NWSL footage dating back to the 2017 season.

In addition, there will be collaboration between the two parties around tentpole NWSL moments, in the form of both on-site activations and studio activity. There will also be involvement with NWSL players on the TWSN show, The World According To.

This partnership has been unveiled with the NWSL's 2026 season having begun on March 13. The regular campaign runs through November 1, to be followed by the post-season playoffs.

Just before the season started, NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman announced the league will award its 18th franchise later this year, with the selected team to begin play in the 2028 season.

Most recently, the league announced Atlanta as its 17th franchise in November.

Domestically, the NWSL has live broadcast rights deals in place with ESPN, CBS Sports, Scripps Network, and Amazon Prime Video.

Elsewhere in top-tier women's soccer, England's WSL has launched its first mobile app.

The app has been designed by the WSL Football organization that runs both the Women's Super League and the second-tier WSL 2.

The app currently features live match stories, tailored and personalised player and team content, a match center, live streaming (for games shown via YouTube), ticket links, and a dedicated statistics page.

Ruth Hooper, chief marketing officer at WSL Football, has commented: "Our priority was to create something that was shaped by the people who love it the most, so fans could have what they wanted in one place.

“As we continue to evolve the app, we’ll keep responding to their needs and introduce new features to create the most engaging digital home for our leagues.”

This week, the WSL also announced a partnership with sports technology and data science firm Sportable to implement connected smart ball technology in its match balls.
