Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK has bolstered its athletics media rights portfolio, becoming the latest Nordic state TV service to acquire the rights to elite athletics’ Diamond League tour.
Through the deal, which will run through the 2029 Diamond League campaign, NRK will showcase all 15 Diamond League meets each season, including the annual Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway, which will take place this year on June 12.
Three out of the 15 meets of the 2025 Diamond League campaign have already taken place, with the next event, the Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme de Rabat in Morocco, to take place on May 25.
This deal was brokered by sports and media heavyweight agency Infront, which has been the Diamond League’s global media rights distributor since 2019, and earlier in 2025 also became the competition’s post-production and streaming services provider.
The Diamond League will be of particular interest to Norwegian viewers thanks to the success of runners Karsten Warholm, a world record holder in the 400-meter hurdles event and former Olympic champion, and Jacob Ingebritsen, the reigning Olympic 5000-meter champion.
Warholm has already won the 400-meter hurdles at two Diamond League events this season, while Ingebritsen will resume his Diamond League participation at the July 19 London Athletics Meet.

By GlobalDataNRK follows Sweden’s SVT public broadcaster in snapping up Diamond League rights as prominent talents have seen athletics interest boom across the Nordic region.
The interest in athletics has grown so much across the Nordics that in 2024, Warholm competed in an exhibition 100 meter sprint against Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, which was streamed live, globally, on Red Bull TV, and sponsored by sportswear giant Puma.
Alongside Warholm and Ingebritsen, fellow home athletes Håvard Bentdal Ingvaldsen (men’s 400-meter dash) and Marie-Therese Obst (women’s Javelin) will also be of interest to Norwegian viewers.
In terms of top-tier athletics rights, the partnership rounds out a packed portfolio for NRK that also includes the quadrennial Olympic Games (in 2028 and 2032), the biennial World Athletics Championships (through 2029), World Athletics’ Continental Tour and Indoor Tour (both through 2029), the 2026 European Athletics Championships, and athletics tournaments organized by the NFIF national governing body in Norway through 2028.
