Netflix claims the tournament will mark its “most ambitious” sports production to date.

As part of the production deal, IMG will support Netflix in delivering live coverage of the tournament across all 64 matches, with more than 100 hours of studio programming.

Coverage will be available in English and Spanish in the US, and English and French in Canada.

IMG will also support Netflix's live coverage of the 2027 Women's World Cup draw, taking place on 11 December.

The tournament, the first Women’s World Cup to be staged in South America, will take place from June 24 to July 25 next year.

The flagship event will represent Netflix’s first live soccer broadcast in the US and Canada.

Adam Kelly, IMG's president, said: “The FIFA Women’s World Cup is one of the fastest-growing events in global sport, showcasing the best football and captivating new audiences worldwide.

“As Netflix makes its live football debut, we're excited to help bring this tournament to new and existing fans in the US and Canada. Netflix’s scale, discoverability, and storytelling, combined with IMG's best-in-class production expertise, make this a huge moment for football and women’s sport.”

Netflix has significantly grown its live sports portfolio in recent years and earlier in 2026 secured rights to show the Gold Cup and Nations League Finals men’s national team competitions in Mexico through 2029.

Under a four-year agreement, the streamer will have exclusive rights for the 2027 and 2029 editions of both competitions.

Netflix has previously focused on high-profile combat sports events as a path into the sports market, broadcasting several boxing and mixed martial arts fights.

The streaming heavyweight also has major deals with American football’s NFL and wrestling’s WWE, as well as rights to top-tier properties from sports such as baseball and tennis.

IMG produces content for several major sports leagues, events, and media platforms, including Major League Soccer, English Football League, WTA Tour, Saudi Pro League, CBS’ UEFA Champions League and Europa League coverage, UFC, DP World Tour, Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, and The Open Championship.
