The Laver Cup, the annual men’s tennis team competition contested by Europe and the rest of the world, has continued to strengthen its commercial portfolio, adding Singapore-based financial technology company Ant International as a new sponsor.

The partnership will see Ant International’s digital payment platforms Alipay+, WorldFirst, and Antom become the official payment partners of the Laver Cup through 2029, starting from this year’s edition, which will be held at San Francisco, California’s Chase Center from September 19 to 21.

Alipay, the digital platform of Ant International’s former parent company Ant Group, the Chinese fintech heavyweight, has also joined the partnership.

Ant International was founded by Ant Group to expand its services beyond China in 2023, but is now independently operated after a restructure last year.

Since then, it has used sports sponsorships to increase its brand visibility, including at last year’s UEFA European Championship in Germany and through an ongoing partnership with English soccer club Tottenham Hotspur.

As part of the deal, Ant International will support the Laver Cup to increase its fanbase and engagement in the Asia-Pacific region through its digital payment partners, which serve over 1.7 billion consumers.

Ant International chief executive Peng Yang said: “We look forward to supporting the Laver Cup with creative branding, marketing, and fan engagement activities throughout our ecosystem of customers and partners across 200 markets.”

For the Laver Cup, the new agreement marks the latest commercial partnership secured by organizers ahead of this year’s tournament, including global technology firm Genesys, which signed on as a global supplier for this year’s edition.

In June, carmaker Mercedes-Benz, financial services firm UBS, and luxury watch brand Rolex renewed their deals, joining Perlexity, Flexjet, Boss, and DAOU Vineyards.

Swiss International Airlines has also been brought in as a sponsor for the 2025 Laver Cup.

The three-day Laver Cup, which forms part of the men’s ATP Tour, pits six of the best men’s players from Europe against six leading players from the rest of the world. It was launched in 2017 in collaboration with tennis icon Roger Federer and the Team8 player representation agency.

London has been confirmed as the Laver Cup’s 2026 host venue, with the city previously hosting the 2022 edition.
