Kayo Sports, the sports streaming platform of Australian pay-TV operator Foxtel, has consolidated its motor racing offering by renewing its rights to motorcycling’s elite MotoGP Championship.

The multi-year deal, struck with the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group (MSEG), will see Kayo Sports continue to air every MotoGP qualifying, practice, and Grands Prix race live from the 2027 season onwards.

Foxtel is owned by international sports streaming giant DAZN, which completed its acquisition of the pay-TV broadcaster last year. DAZN also holds rights to the competition in Spain and Portugal in a three-year deal secured in July.

The deal builds on DAZN’s coverage of MotoGP, with the streamer also holding rights to the competition in Spain and Portugal.

Carlos Ezpeleta, deputy chief executive of MSEG, said: “Australia has always been one of MotoGP’s most passionate markets, and we are delighted to extend our partnership with DAZN’s Kayo Sports and Foxtel, ensuring fans continue to have access to every session, every race and every unforgettable moment of the championship.

“This new agreement further extends what is the longest broadcast partnership in MotoGP’s   history, underlining both the strength of our relationship and the enduring passion of Australian fans for the sport.”

The renewal extends one of the championship’s longest running rights partnerships, with 2027 marking 30 years since Foxtel began serving as its Australian broadcast partner.

The deal also consolidates Kayo’s motor racing offering, having extended its rights deals with the elite Formula 1 (F1) series and domestic Supercars Championship ahead of the 2026 seasons.

Retaining its rights is critical for Foxtel and Kayo Sports as it looks to remain Australia’s ‘Home of Motorsports’ and fend off competition from Stan Sports, the streaming service of Australian commercial broadcaster Nine Network, which has been active in securing live motorsports rights in the last few years.

Alongside MotoGP, Formula 1, and Supercars, Kayo’s offering includes Nascar, the World Superbike Championship, the Australian Rally Championship, the Shannons SpeedSeries, and the GT World.

Stan Sports, meanwhile, currently holds rights to the IndyCar Series, Formula E, the World Endurance Championship, the World Rally Championship, MXGP, the Australian Superbike Championship, and Australian ProMX.

For MotoGP, the deal continues the series’ commercial push by promoter MotoGP Sports Entertainment (MSEG), formerly known as Dorna Sport, which was rebranded after the company’s takeover by Liberty Media in 2024.

The deal, valued at €4.2 billion ($4.5 billion), brought an end to the Dorna name, which has been iconic across the world of motorsport for over 30 years.

MSEG has a deal covering the MotoGP series in place through 2060.
