Major League Soccer (MLS) heavyweights Inter Miami have secured American Airlines as the club’s first-ever airline partner as it continues to bolster its commercial partnership slate.

The multi-year partnership sees American Airlines become an official partner of Inter Miami and a founding partner of the newly opened Nu Stadium and wider Miami Freedom Park development.

As part of the partnership, American Airlines will become the entitlement partner of the 1,800-seat West Club hospitality space at Nu Stadium, which will be renamed American Lounge, and be integrated across the club’s content initiatives, including a travel-focused content series.

The pair said they will work to create new ways for fans to engage with the club through the airline’s AAdvantage program, with members offered pitchside access, matchday experiences, and away match travel experiences.

Members will also be able to redeem miles for access to select matches and experiences.

Juan Carlos Liscan, American Airlines senior vice president of MIA Operations, said: “American has played a key role in the growth of Miami as a global destination for culture and tourism, and we’re thrilled to partner with an organization that shares our relentless momentum and joint passion to connecting this community with the world.

“Inter Miami CF’s historic rise to becoming a global phenomenon has captured the attention of fans worldwide, and through this new partnership, we look forward to creating new ways to bring them even closer to the excitement and energy that the club is known for.”

The deal adds to Inter Miami’s recent commercial activity, having most recently brought in Hyundai Motor America as a sponsor under a multi-year deal.

In March, the club extended a partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas for another five years, while also unveiling their stadium naming rights agreement with Brazilian digital financial services company Nu.

Xavier Asensi, president of business operations at Inter Miami CF and Nu Stadium, said: “When we set out to establish our airline partnership, it was important to us that we align with a partner that matched the ambition and global stature of Inter Miami, and American naturally fit that vision.

“Together, we have a unique opportunity to bring the world even closer to our Club and create meaningful new ways for fans everywhere to experience Inter Miami.”

The announcement comes a day after soccer governing body FIFA announced Nu Stadium as the host for the final phase of its Champions Cup women’s club competition.

The second edition of the competition will be staged as a four-team event next year, with the stadium to host the semi-finals, third-place playoff match, and final.

The 26,700-capacity Nu Stadium opened in April and hosted its first international friendly between Haiti and Peru in June. The venue and Inter Miami’s other facilities were also used by 11 nations during the men’s 2026 World Cup, which took place across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
