The acquisition of the Tech3 MotoGP racing team, led by the Ikon Capital investment group, has been completed, with fellow funds Bolt Ventures and Main Street Advisors (MSA) joining the wide-ranging consortium.
Ikon confirmed the acquisition in September 2025, and now Bolt Ventures (the family office of US investor and sports franchise owner David Blitzer) and Main Street Advisors (the wide-ranging sports and commercial business fund) have been added to the ownership mix alongside a swathe of other investors.

Taking over from former owner Herve Poncharal, this new regime will install Guenther Steiner, long-time team principal in the Formula 1 motor racing category, as the new chief executive of the team, which is known as Red Bull KTM Tech3 for sponsorship reasons.
Ikon says that the new investment from Bolt and MSA will be used to “further professionalize its commercial infrastructure, and build its franchise value through increased brand development, fan engagement, and sponsor activation.”
Tech3 was founded in 1999, and competes in both the elite MotoGP series and the lightweight class Moto3.
Speaking on the investment, Blitzer commented: “MotoGP is well positioned to enjoy the type of meteoric rise we’ve seen with Formula 1, and we’re confident our investment in Tech3 is an investment in the future of motorsports.”
