Globo, the Brazilian commercial broadcasting giant, has signed a broadcast agreement with the World Surf League that will see its SporTV channel become surfing’s broadcast home in the country from 2022 until the end of 2024.

The deal covers WSL’s Championship Tour, Challenger Series, Big Wave and Longboard Tour events, as well as various series and documentaries produced by WSL Studios.

It includes multi-platform coverage on TV Globo, Globopay, ge and Canal OFF, as well as on WSL’s digital platforms.

Eduardo Gabbay, sports channel director at Globo, said: “Our cross-platform coverage will bring more visibility to the sport, offering relevant content to thousands of surfing fans across the country, in addition to attracting new consumers to the modality.”
