The deal, meanwhile, sees Standard Chartered add another major property to its small sports sponsorship portfolio.

The company’s biggest and most prominent deal is with English Premier League soccer giants Liverpool. The bank has been the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor since 2010.

The existing agreement with Liverpool, signed in July 2022, will run until the end of the 2026-27 season, by which point the pair will have clocked up 17 years together.

Elsewhere, Standard Chartered also sponsors the European golf’s DP World Tour.

In other F1 commercial developments, McLaren Racing has partnered with energy technology company Schneider Electric.

The France-based firm will become the official energy technology partner of multiple teams under the McLaren Racing umbrella, including the F1, IndyCar, and F1 Academy sides, as well as the McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar outfit.

As part of the agreement, Schneider and McLaren Racing will develop and deploy energy technology that “enables peak performance in the most demanding environments.”

The two parties will collaborate on optimising existing assets in and around the wind tunnel, manufacturing facilities, and IT data centres.

The official partnership expands a supplier relationship the pair have had for more than 20 years.

McLaren has announced several new commercial deals over the past week ahead of the upcoming 2026 season.

The reigning F1 champions announced German sportswear giants Puma as their new technical sponsor and secured a deal with digital network provider Hedera Foundation in a fan-focused tie-up.
